through your generosity
Since 1985, over $4 million has passed through the Baton Rouge State Fair Foundation back into the community. We have a nearly 60-year history of funding community service projects and promoting enrichment opportunities for the children and youth of the Baton Rouge area.
Our donations go to both those in need and those with exceptional achievements. They take three forms:
- Worthy Cause Grants: for children and youth-centered nonprofits.
- Volunteer Awards: for community-oriented Baton Rouge teens.
- Endowed Scholarships: to honor our long-time volunteers.
Our mission is to create and improve opportunities for worthy individuals in the Baton Rouge area. Just by attending the Greater Baton Rouge State Fair, like-minded community members can join us in that mission.
Our board members are proud residents of the greater Baton Rouge area. We look for nonprofits with projects that highlight what’s great about our community and tackle innovative ways to improve.

We go to work in the community in various ways: recognizing promising teens, funding endowed scholarships, and awarding Worthy Cause Grants that have transformed the greater Baton Rouge area since 1985.

Worthy Cause GrantsThe foundation reviews and awards grants to local non-profits to provide new opportunities to the youth and children of Baton Rouge.

Outstanding High School Volunteer AwardsIn recognition of exceptional high school juniors who perform volunteer work in the community, nominated and selected by their schools.

Endowed ScholarshipsTo honor longtime volunteers for their years of service to the Greater Baton Rouge State Fair and/or the Baton Rouge State Fair Foundation, scholarships for area high schoolers and college students are established and awarded in the names of those volunteers.
